Hena Patel

Call: 2019

Hena is currently undertaking pupillage at Hailsham Chambers under the supervision of Dan Stacey, Justin Meiland, Catherine Ewins and David Juckes.

Prior to commencing pupillage, Hena was a paralegal at a City law firm specialising in high-value and complex litigation. As part of the Personal Injury team, Hena worked on claims for clients who had suffered traumatic brain injuries and leg injuries resulting in an amputation. Consequently, she has experience of drafting particulars of claim, calculating general damages, and providing instructions to experts. She also developed an understanding of the impact that litigation has on vulnerable clients, and how best to communicate complex medico-legal matters sensitively and effectively.

Hena has also worked as an advocate for LPC Law and was regularly instructed on behalf of claimants and defendants on a range of court matters, including applications for summary judgment and strike out, possession claims and infant approval hearings. During her studies, Hena volunteered at the Centre for Criminal Appeals and developed her advocacy skills by participating in mooting and debating competitions. She was awarded the Benjamin Franklin Transatlantic Fellowship as a result of winning a UK-wide debating competition.

Hena is interested in developing a practice in all of Chambers’ core practice areas and anticipates being available to accept instructions from mid-April 2022.
